General Principles
We act fairly and responsibly. Always.
We are committed to treating all business partners and stakeholders fairly and responsibly. Everyone involved in business processes bears responsibility towards their own company, customers and suppliers, as well as towards the environment and society.
In all our business activities and decisions, we comply with the applicable laws and relevant regulations of the countries in which we operate. Our ethical guidelines are based on international standards, in particular the UN Global Compact, the ILO Conventions, the United Nations Human Rights Principles and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

We protect the environment and resources.

We strictly comply with all applicable environmental and energy legislation and adhere to international standards. Through continuous improvements to our processes and products, we promote sustainable business practices.
Water Quality and Water Consumption
We manage water as a resource responsibly. Where possible, we reduce, reuse and recycle waste water to maintain and improve water quality. All statutory requirements regarding water protection are met.
Responsible handling of hazardous substances
We expect hazardous substances to be handled responsibly and disposed of in a professional manner. Substances that pose a risk to the environment and human health are monitored and, where possible, replaced with alternatives.

Product sustainability
We develop our products with sustainability in mind and work continuously to minimise their environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle.
Business Conduct
We do not tolerate corruption.
Corruption, bribery, extortion, money laundering
We neither engage in nor tolerate corruption, extortion or bribery. We consistently separate the interests of the company from private interests and make decisions independently and objectively.
Personal benefits intended to unduly influence business relationships or which jeopardise the independence of business partners must not be accepted, offered, demanded or granted. We comply with the legal provisions on the prevention of money laundering and do not tolerate any business relationships or transactions that serve to conceal unlawful assets.
Land, forest and water rights; forced evictions
We are committed to the responsible management of land, forest and water resources in order to promote sustainable social, environmental and economic development. We expressly reject forced evictions and the unlawful deprivation of property, usage and access rights.
In doing so, we comply with the applicable legal requirements and adhere to recognised international standards, in particular the United Nations Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Land, Fisheries and Forest Tenure.
Suppliers
We expect our suppliers to respect human rights and to act in a socially responsible manner. For us, this forms the basis of a long-term partnership.
We assess tenders fairly and impartially; contracts are awarded and executed in accordance with objective and transparent criteria.
Involvement of business partners
Our employees adhere to the Code of Conduct in all business decisions, particularly when selecting business partners.
If there are doubts regarding their compliance – for example, with regard to human rights or labour standards – we demand immediate rectification or terminate the partnership.

Furthermore, sexual harassment and inappropriate behaviour in the workplace are strictly prohibited.
We condemn any distinction, exclusion or restriction based on gender which has the effect or purpose of impairing or nullifying the recognition, enjoyment or exercise by women of human rights and fundamental freedoms on the basis of equality between men and women. These principles of equality also apply to all forms of staff recruitment.
